a couple of weeks in satisfactory, and the factory was done. it's an impressive image for what it is β€” the whole game completed, alone, all in one small space, and kept organized the whole way through. the screenshot marked the day

the finished satisfactory factory

the build

the buildings hold towers of assembly machines. each tower climbs until it reaches the roof-top tier of the game, assembling final products floor by floor. below the vehicle logistics sits belt logistics β€” the compact, quiet workhorse layer underneath. the whole thing is an extremely compact playthrough, everything packed and ordered in a tight footprint

the fun part: the carts

for the larger endgame items i didn't just belt them. i actually did the logistics with factory carts, delivering the products across the site for the fun of it. that's what the roads between the buildings are for β€” the little carts running product between the towers. not the efficient way. the fun way. and it worked

why i enjoyed it

and the honest thing is, i really do enjoy systems integration. it's the same joy that runs through the grid work β€” taking separate pieces, a building here, a delivery line there, a belt underneath, and making them all fit into one thing that works. satisfactory handed me that joy in a game, and it's the same one i keep chasing in the systems i build. the factory was pure systems integration, and i loved it

εŽ‚ is a factory. a game beaten, all in a small space, carts running the roads for the fun of it β€” and the same love of systems that runs through everything else i do
